This week immediately started off with a bang. My Thai family and I went to the sacred flagship temple for the people of Maha Sarakham provincea. Sure, I’ve already visited six temples, but this one was especially special as I was able to experience it with my Thai family. From eating homemade coconut ice cream together to walking around the temple, it truly was a great bonding experience.
This week also kicked off my two week crash course English class. I’ve been spending my days preparing for class and teaching my students (around 15) the foundations for survival English. Whether we’re playing ABCs BINGO or practicing our conversational skills with a matching game, my class always seems to be rocking. By a stroke of luck, I was given two binders of beginner ESL curriculum, so my lesson planning has been substantially easier (not to mention I’m also getting the hang of it).
So far, this what my week has encompassed. Of course, there are many other stories to tell, but you’ll have to wait for the weekly report to read them all.
